SPOTLIGHT ON: AVELEEN ROSE ENTERTAINMENT

Aveleen Rose Entertainment is a music and film production company based in Royal Leamington Spa, dedicated to creating original and positive content.

Corina Sabou, the founder and CEO of the company, shared with us a few thoughts about the concept and the drive behind the business.

‘We want to bring forth more original storytelling through music and film and improve the audience’s experience through the content we create. I believe art in general, and especially music and film can significantly contribute to the betterment of our health and wellbeing and significantly improve our lives. Just like farms who produce organic food, and restaurants that prepare healthy meals, we create healthy content tending to people’s emotional needs, so everyone can benefit and improve their life experience, no matter where they are.’

Apart from their in-house productions of music and film, Aveleen Rose Entertainment offers a variety of services to the film industry, such as music composition, live music performance, choreography and movement direction, production services, art direction and costume design.

‘We love to collaborate and work on a variety of projects; it just broadens the perspective of what is possible and creating with others is such a magical experience.

‘We are also very focused on the environment we create and what we can do differently for creatives and artists who work with us. We want to ensure they have opportunities to sustain their careers and fulfil their potential in the creative industries and be fairly compensated for their efforts. We offer career progression opportunities for those working in film, as well as opportunities for emerging talent, and we are fully inclusive.

‘We are a young company, but we are very passionate and excited to bring a fresh perspective and a new approach to content creation and audience interaction. We will explore and alchemize until we find the right recipe for both the creators and the audience.’

‘We have a few projects in the pipeline and we cannot wait to show you what we can do.’

STUDENT PROJECT ENJOYS INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

Hanna Lange, a commercial directing student at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, was blown away by the response to her spec commercial for the flower gifting service Interflora/Fleurop.

‘At ceremonies, birthdays or other special occasions, men usually receive a handshake or alcohol and the women receive flowers,’ she said. ‘I was wondering how many men actually receive flowers as gifts and came across the Interflora/Fleurop campaign, which states that 88 percent of men receive flowers for the first time at their funeral, but 48 percent would love to receive flowers as gifts. I wanted to use these statistics in my advertising in a humorous and accessible way.’

In Hanna’s commercial, the speaker at a funeral shares this information with mourners in a professional but dry and humorous way. This makes a grieving woman reconsider and she present her flowers to the cemetery gardener instead of the deceased. At this surprise he flies away with his bouquet. The spot ends with a call to action to send flowers - preferably with Fleurop - before it's too late.

The project won the latest Shiny Award in Amsterdam, was nominated for Best Costume at Conero Film + Adv Festival in Italy, and Hanna was nominated at the Shark Awards for Best New Director.
