Mini winter skincare review

Mini winter skincare review

I’ve had the pleasure of trying what I believe to be, some of the best picks for your winter skincare routine from Drunk Elephant.  I would like to say that I am currently in postpartum mode ( 4 months ) and my skin has been looking and feeling all-over the shop, but mostly very dry.

Firstly, their packaging is just so appealing. The colourful bottles make it super easy to spot and pick your product.

I am very obsessed with the Lippe Balm (lip balm) . I’ve been using it pretty much every day and it has been great for moisturising my lips and perfect as base coat before applying lipstick. It has a lovely subtle smell, super cute and small and can fit anywhere really, which means you can easily spend a long time looking for it in your handbag - so place it somewhere convenient!

The Lala Retro Whipped Cream, comes in a very cute retro packaging. As I mentioned previously, my skin has been feeling very dry. I was very skeptical in trying out this cream, but I have to say, it has a great matte finish and it is deeply moisturising  ( thanks to it’s African oils to be precise) and left my skin super hydrated. I’ve been applying it before bedtime as found it was too rich as base coat for makeup.

The B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel and C-Firma Day Serum go hand in hand really. I have been using this duo in the mornings, after washing my face with a very delicate facial oil wash (not from Drunk Elephant). I have one pump of the Serum and couple of pumps of the Hydration Gel, mix on my palms and onto my face they land. The serum is packed with vitamin C (duh!) and this is great as it acts as an antioxidant. With the fragrant liquorice root extract and Indian gooseberry it helps to create a matte smooth finish to your skin. It does have a funny smell (a bit like fake tan products) but blended with the serum it wasn’t too bad. I did feel my face more toned and firm.

The serum is packed with these yummy ingredients instead: lentil / apple / watermelon complex and pineapple ceramides. It is pretty much odourless. Initially it feels a bit sticky and weird, but once you blend the serum and mix it well, the final result is nice. My skin did feel a bit brighter an moisturised, but not as moisturised as the Lala Whipped Cream. Bear in mind that my skin has been very dry, so I am having to drink a lot more water and use super-hydrating creams. All in all the Vitamin C Serum is a keeper.
